Current Favorites #2

Hola, beauty lovers!! So, I'm coming to talk about my current favorite things. Like my April favorites (i know, it's been a long while), I adapted a different format, choosing to include different areas aside from beauty---like music, food, books, etc. I've got a LOT of favorites to get through , so sit back, relax and enjoy!! BEAUTY Milani lipsticks: they are AMAZE!! Easily one of the best drugstore lipstick brands on the market. They're very creamy, pigmented, and the smell of watermelon makes it even better!! Milani is a brand I feel should dominate more drugstores because the quality is superb!! My favorite colors currently are Teddy Bare (light brown nude), Rose Femme (medium brownish pink nude) and Sangria (deep Berry purple). NYX High Voltage lipstick in Dahlia : this is the PERFECT vampy lip!! NYX hit the black purple color on the freaking head!!! The finish is matte, so I recommend you use an exfoliant and balm on your lips because it...

Current Favorites

Hey, beauty lovers!! Welcome back! So, in today's post, I wanted to talk about my current favorites. Just my last favourites post, I will incorporate things from multiple areas---music, books, food, beauty, entertainment, etc. to make my blog more multifaceted and interesting. So, without anymore delay, let's get started!  *warning: this one will be a bit lengthy, so bare with me. BEAUTY - Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: why did it take me so long to try this?? Seriously, it is a bomb.com concealer!! It covers my dark spots without being super heavy and it's easy to blend out! The color I use is 30 Café. -Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Spot Eraser in Medium/Deep :  this one also took me a while to try because A) I could never find it in stores bc it was always sold out and B) the price--as high as $11 in some stores! But when I saw this marked down and Bed Bath and Beyond, I couldn't resist it so I bought three!! It is a bit lighter than I prefer, so I choose...

September/October Empties

Hello, beauty lovers!! So, after being super out of commission from virtually everything, I'm finally back with quite a large empties post! I've got a pretty nice selection of skincare and makeup (no haircare this time since my hair is braided up for the fall and maybe the winter also). But anywho, Like my other empties posts, I will be offering up my honest opinions about each product and whether or not I would repurchase them. So sit back, relax, and enjoy ! St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion : I had never tried a spray lotion before, so when I picked this up over the summer, I was not exactly sure what to expect from it. But, I had a little bit of faith in it since it is by St. Ives & my old holy grail lotion was by them. I must say, I was impressed!! This lotion really kept my skin moisturized and it was extremely convenient for days that I was rushing to get ready for work and didn't want to pump out my lotion. However, one thing I don't like about this...

Summer ipsy bags!!

Hey, all!! I'm slowly back in the swing of things here, so I'm coming with a review on not one, not two, but THREE ipsy bags (Swim into Beauty, Summer Lovin and Prep School). Like my other reviews, I talk about each product and whether I would repurchase or not. So, without delay, lets get into it!! JUNE: SWIM INTO BEAUTY The productsn I receieved in this bag are: -IT Cosmetics Universal Brow Pencil in Universal Taupe: the actual pencil is lack luster for me. I don't like how dry the pencil applies. I really have to work to get the product built up how I like. But the spoolie side.....AHMAZING!! It definitely gets my brows brushed up in line!! However, I probably will not buy a full size because my NYC pencil does a pretty great job of filling in my brows and it's less than a Buck!! -Altchek Depuff Eye Pads: like many of the other sample skin products, I do not feel I can give a honest review unless in use it on the regular .  -Trestique Mini Shadow Crayon in...

July/August Empties

Hello, loves!! So, I'm back yet another empties post for July and August. As usual, I do mini reviews on each and whether or not I'd repurchase. Without any more delays, let's get rolling!! - Calgon Sweet Crush exfoliating body wash : very nice smell (fruity and sweet), but sucks as a body wash to me. I felt like I had to use a ton every shower to get the lather I wanted. Will absolutely NOT repurchase. - Studio 35 Beauty Daily Micro-shaping Cream : okay at moisturizing my skin, but I did get more oily if I used too much, especially on my forehead . Probably not a repurchase. - GNC Vitamins E, A & D Moisturizing Cream: one of my faves!! I discovered this cream on YouTube about two years ago and I keep going back to it. It softens my skin and doesn't make me more oily than I already am. Plus it's only 2 bucks!! So if you're looking for a good starter moisturizer, this is a great one! Definitely a repurchase for me! - Shea Moisture Coconut ...

Semi Annual Sweetness

Hola, beauty lovers!! So, I'm coming to talk about my goodies I got from the Semi Annual Sale at Bath and Body Works!! Just in case you are clueless about it, Bath and Body Works has a Semi Annual Sale during the 6th and 12th  month of each year (or every June and December) to clear out inventory of scents past to make room for the new Signature collection items----plus the nice incentive of getting up to 75% off items makes it just a touch sweeter !  But this year was a little different because BBW brought back six signature scents in the rotation: Country Apple, Juniper Breeze, Pearberry, Plumeria, White Tea & Ginger, and finally one of the most classic scents in history:  Cucumber Melon 🌹 So after serious suppression of wanting to buy EVERYTHING lol and 50 bucks later, I think I came out with some lovely finds :) I will be sure to use each item and offer up my honest opinion about each one. Well, that'll do it for now ! Thanks so much for reading and like ...

June Empties

Hey, all!! Long time no speak. So ,I'm finally coming to do my empties for June and as you'll see, I've used up quite a bit of stuff altogether. So, without any more delay, let's get rolling!! Sof'n'Free Nothing But Intense Healing Mask : it was an OK mask, but nothing super stellar.  I always had to add something to it to give it some oomph.  Wouldn't rebuy most likely. Assured 100% Pure Cotton Rounds: amazing!! Already repurchased. Sweet Pink perfume from Dots : Nice fragrance, but my bottle leaked all the time!! Would not repurchase probably.  Spring Valley Biotin supplement (10,000 mcg plus Keratin) : these worked SO much better than the other biotin supplements I tried!! Would repurchase.  Nourish Organic Replenishing Argan Oil with Pomegranate and Rosehip : very nice oil on my straightened hair, but had to use a bit more on my curly hair. Would repurchase but only use on my straightened hair. Figs and Rouge hand cream : very silky ...

March-May Empties

Hey, guys!!  So, I'm back with another empties post. I didn't have very many separately for each month,  so I decided to combine March, April and May's together. Just like in my February empties , I will offer my honest review of each product and whether or not I would repurchase.  So, without delay, let's get started! VO5 Moisture Milks Conditioner in Strawberries and Cream: One of the best cheapy conditioners on the market! I've used VO5  since pretty early in my natural hair journey and I LOVE how they make my hair feel!! This one, in particular , makes my hair so soft and plush!! I would definitely repurchase! Naughty & Nice Sweet Seduction Hydrating Body Cream: This as a fairly nice lotion to use----plus the fact it was 60 cents doesn't hurt either!! I was not ashy again after application , but the texture before you apply it kinda threw me off a little (like it was more silicony or oily). But, over all, I did enjoy it. I would repurchas...

April & May ipsy bags: Beautifully Bohemian & Jetsetter

Hey, all! Today, I'm coming with another review on two more of my ipsy bags: Beautifully Bohemian [April] and Jetsetter [May]. Now before I jump into the review, I'll give about 30 seconds to take a chance if you're totally clueless as to what exactly ipsy even is to go check out their website--www.ipsy.com--or the post I did on it back in September  here . You good now???? Alright, let's get into ze review!! In April's bag (Beautifully Bohemian), I received: Redken Wind Blown Dry Finishing Spray Essence Lash Princess Mascara theBalm Nude Dude mini eyeshadow single in "Flirty" KCO Colors lipstick in "Natural Born Beauty" Mullein & Sparrow Tinted Lip & Cheek Balm Like always , I review every single item, good/bad/in between. Redken Wind Blown Dry Finishing Spray--- I haven't used this yet, but Redken is one of the best brands that I know of in the beauty market. Once I use it , I will offer my honest review about it. ...

April Favorites

Hey. ya'll!! Today, I'm coming with my favorites for the month of April! But, this one will be a little different. I decided to also include other areas aside from beauty----like food, music, books, etc. So, without any further delay, let us get started!! BEAUTY Hard Candy eye shadow palette in Birthday Suit:  I have been loving on this palette like crazy!! This is the all matte palette and each shade is gorgeous!! They blend fairly easy and have decent pigmentation.  Urban Decay Vice 3 palette: I'm so , so, SO glad that I invested the $60 in this palette!! Every single shadow is just....I can't even. I just cannot even fathom how perfect they are!! They're so buttery  and pigmented! You can create so many looks with it, a couple of which I've included on my Instagram---feel free to follow me @xpaintedfacesx to check them out!  LA Colors Little Black Book of Eye-shadows --Natural Edition: this little guy has also been a go-to palette for ...

February & March ipsy bags: ipsylove & Floral Fantasy

Hey, all! Today, I'm coming with another review on two more of my ipsy bags: ipsylove [February] and Floral Fantasy [March]. Now before I jump into the review,  take a chance if you're totally clueless as to what exactly ipsy even is to go check out their website--www.ipsy.com--or the post I did on it back in September  here . Now, review time! : Here's my February #ipsylove bag I received: Modelco Cheek Bulsh Powder in "02 Peach Bellini" China Glaze nail polish in "Marry a Millionaire" Glamglow Brightening Eye Treatment (I actually received two treatments) City Color Creamy Lip Stain in "Flirtini" Luxie Large Angled Blush As always, I give a short honest review about each product: good, bad or in between.  I actually do like the blush on my skin! It gives more of a golden sheen on my cheeks, but it's flattering nonetheless. I was very afraid that it would look too bright or clownish on me, but it does the opposite. ...

March Favorites

Hello all!! I know---I've been gone from blogging for a while, but I'm back!! I'm coming with my favorites for the month of March --which is also my birthday month--#JordanStatus! So, without any further holdup, let's get started!! Ulta Super Stretch Fiber Mascara in "Jet Black "---- For as long as I can remember,  I've had a love/hate relationship with mascara.  Some flake on me, others make my eyes feel itchy, others take way too long to dry. But this one???? PERFECTION. It enhances my lashes so well without irritating my eyes, as well as dries fairly quickly.  Nourish Organics Replenishing Argan Oil- --- I've been really loving this oil!! I actually started using it in December, but it definitely delivers! Primariliy, I use it on my hair since I'm currently wearing it straight in the winter [once it warms up again, I'll go back to wearing my hair in its natural state] , but this oil has saved my hair a TON! It is a little on the ...

February Empties

Hey, guys! I wanted to hop on here and show some of my empties for the month of February , as well as give my honest review of each product. Here are all my empties: Shea Moisture African Black Soap Balancing Conditioner: Love this conditioner!!! It makes detangling my hair in the shower so stinkin easy. Definitely would repurchase. Bodycology Moisturizing Hand Cream in "Pretty in Paris" : Very smooth on my hands and I love the fragrance! Definitely would repurchase this! Lil Critters Gummy Vites: Personally , I prefer gummy vitamins over the big chalky pills, but I wasn't a huge fan of these. They had this powder to probably preserve them, but it gave them a odd aftertaste that was yucky. Most likely, I would not repurchase these. Bath & Body Works Wild Citrus Sunflower Body Lotion: I think this is like the third post about this lotion lol, but seriously , I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! It kept my skin moisturized , left a nice fragrance on my skin and wasn't ov...

February Favorites

Hey, guys! I'm coming with my beauty favorites for the month of February ---or the stuff I've reaching for the past couple weeks when I wanna get a little gussied up for whatever the occasion may be. So, without delay, let's get started , shall we? Bath & Body Works Wild Citrus Sunflower body lotion : I mentioned this lotion back in my December favorites post and I still love it!! I'm sad, however, to report that I finally ran out of it :[ Elf Smudge Pots : I've been stalking these joints ever since I heard about them on Instagram, but up until recently, the only place that sold them was the e.l.f. website. However, on a random Walgreens run, there they were on the shelf, just calling me!! At $3 a pot, I couldn't say no. I ended up picking up two of the three shades available (Cruisin Chic & Brownie Points), but I've been using Brownie Points mainly as my base color for my eye looks. Aside from an eyeshadow, it can also be used as an eyeline...

December & January ipsy bags: Thinking of You & Fresh Start

Hey, all! Today, I'm coming with another review on two more of my ipsy bags: Thinking of You [December] and Fresh Start [January]. Now before I jump into the review, if you're totally clueless as to what exactly ipsy even is, you can check out their website--www.ipsy.com--or the post I did on it back in September here . Now, onto the review. Here's my December bag: The products I received were: NYX Butter Lip balm in "Ladyfingers" Cailyn Cosmetics Just Mineral Eye Polish in "Orchid" Crown Royal C416 Crease/Shadow Brush Bumble & Bumble Bb Straight Blow Dry Cream Tarte Lights, Camera lashes 4-in-1 Mascara REVIEW: I've used everything but the blow dry cream and mascara so far (I'm a little nervous about atttempting a blowout on my hair again and I've got mascara for weeks to still get through lol) The lip balm does give a slight wash of color , but can be a little drying [at least it is on me].  The eye polish is just ama...

The Eyes of 2015

I'm loving these eye looks that I've created so far in 2015! They came out absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see what other looks I form this year. The first 2 looks were created by the 2 palettes I chose in my 2 Palettes, 1 Month post that you can check out here .  The last was from my Smashbox palette that I returned. Thanks for reading and like always, Stay Beautiful! Top: Purple Kisses Middle: Goldfinger Bottom: Silver Bullet

2 Palettes , 1 Month Challenge

Hello, all! It's CHALLENGE time!!! I was going through my makeup collection and realized I've got a whole lot----a WHOLE lot---of things I haven't used, mainly eyeshadow palettes So after browsing the Instagram for a bit, I ran across the 2 Palettes, 1 Month challenge which is just that---you choose ANY 2 palettes of your choice and those are the only shadows you can reach for when you choose to wear makeup. Now since January is more that halfway over, I'm deciding to do mine for both the remainder of January and all of February. These are the two palettes I'm choosing to use: Coastal Scents Revealed -- I do enjoy the color payoff I get from this palette and the large range of neutral colors. You can go from matte to shimmer, day to night with no real difficulty. This palette is said to be a dupe for both the Naked 1 & 2 palettes from Urban Decay, and I believe it holds true to that!! So if you've been eyeing either Naked palette but don't quite f...

Silver Bullet

Hi, ya'll!! I'm here to talk about this eye look I wore to work yesterday using my Smashbox palette :) I purchased the palette over the summer and was actually thinking of returning it because I hadn't really used it, but I decided to give it a try & I was pretty pleased in the end! I think silver looks really good against my skin, plus it's one of my favorite colors also. So, if 'you're curious as to how I got it , keep on reading below. Primer [eye]: ELF Glitter Primer ' NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Milk' Brows: ELF Eyebrow Kit in 'Dark' Eyeshadow: Smashbox "On the Rocks" Photo Op Palette lid--'Mink'(dark gray/silver color), 'Moonlight' (light sliver) crease--'Royal' (dark chocolate brown) transition--'Juniper' (glittery brown) highlight--'Fizz' (champagne peachy color) Eyeliner: Wet n' Wild MegaEyes Cream Eyeliner in "Black" Mascara: Wet n' Wild MegaLength i...

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

Now back to these good bags, though! October--Beauty Candy Ya'll , let me just start off with the actual bag itself. It's SOOOOOO sexy! I am a huge fan of this bag, especially the color! For October, I received: Nicole by OPI polish in "Feeling Very Cherry" Epice Purifying Exfoliator Starlook lipgloss in "Guilty Pleasure" ModelcoEyes mascara in "Jet Black" Figs & Rouge Hand Cream I've used everything except for the mascara because I have a couple tubes to still get through lol.
