Current Favorites

Hey, beauty lovers!! Welcome back!
So, in today's post, I wanted to talk about my current favorites. Just my last favourites post, I will incorporate things from multiple areas---music, books, food, beauty, entertainment, etc. to make my blog more multifaceted and interesting. So, without anymore delay, let's get started!  *warning: this one will be a bit lengthy, so bare with me.

BEAUTY
-Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: why did it take me so long to try this?? Seriously, it is a bomb.com concealer!! It covers my dark spots without being super heavy and it's easy to blend out! The color I use is 30 Café.
-Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Spot Eraser in Medium/Deep:  this one also took me a while to try because A) I could never find it in stores bc it was always sold out and B) the price--as high as $11 in some stores! But when I saw this marked down and Bed Bath and Beyond, I couldn't resist it so I bought three!! It is a bit lighter than I prefer, so I choose to just layer it on top or underneath whatever concealer I use that day & it works like a charm!!
-ModelCo blush in Peach Bellini: this blush is Bae. It's the prettiest golden peach shade and it is so flattering!! I tend to use it over top My L.A. Colors Berry Plum blush --which is also bae-- but I have also worn it alone and it's just as pretty! It reminds me of a baked blush bc I use it to highlight as well.
-Rimmel Stay Matte Primer (not pictured): they weren't kidding!! This primer is the business!! I have combo/ oily skin, so mattifying products are what I've been going for these days.  I first heard about it from Godzdesign1 on YouTube and it immediately peaked my interest. I've had this primer almost 4 months now and it has not failed me yet ! It truly does help me stay matte!

-Lipliners: lately, I haven't been the mood for lipstick or gloss. I just throw on a lip liner and I'm good to go! They last a decent amount of time and it's not as messy to apply! Some of my faves include: Milani True Color Statement lip liner in Brandy, Prestige lip liner in Auburn, NYC waterproof lip liner in Coco Mauve, Nicka K in Dark Purple and NYX lip liner in Mahogany.

-L'oreal Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream (not pictured): super moisture in a jar!! I adore this moisturizer to pieces! I've been using it along with the serum and they've been grand together.

-Tree Hut Soft Skin Bath Pack: such a convenient way to try out their body scrub and butter! I got the scents Coconut Lime and Tropical Mango, and they both are just so yummy!! I always want to go to the bar every time I use them! The scrub is pretty abrasive, however, so be careful if you have sensitive skin. I prefer that actually because I feel like my skin in the end is a lot smoother and softer after using it. And the body butter is very thick and moisturizing--perfect for after I get out the shower!!
-Simple Cleansing Micellar Water: great everyday or minimal make up days cleanser! At first, I thought it was gimmicky, but after using it for a while , I get why folks buzzed about it. I also love how long it lasts --for me, one bottle was about 3 months worth, which is awesome for me! So, if you're looking for a nice refreshing clean, get you this!!
-L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD concealer: Excuse me while I kick my own behind for being so late on this train! People RAVED about this concealer for as long as it's been in the market and I understand why. It's PERFECTION.....SHEER PERFECTION. Since the local beauty supply store where I live took so long to sell them, I didn't get to try them out till the end of summer. and man, I am hooked!! It is creamy, pigmented and easy to spread and blend out! Plus they're so inexpensive!! *I have the shades Chestnut [pictured], Toast, Beautiful Bronze, Espresso and Dark Cocoa*

-Covergirl Queen Lasting Matte Pressed Powder: this is for sure a product I never hear people talk about, but this powder is everything!! Having combination/oily skin, I'm always searching for good quality products to keep me matte whenever I wear makeup and this has done an amazing job!!! I haven't had it for super long at all, but it honestly can grow to holy grail status for me! I feel that it could serve as a dupe for the Makeup Forever Duo Mat powder that a lot of people love. *I have the shades Medium and Medium Deep*
-Hard Candy Fast & Fabulous Setting Spray: This Walmart exclusive brand of cosmetics has been releasing quite a few new products over the past year, and this may very well be the best setting spray I've ever used!! My makeup does not budge whenever I use this!  Plus, it's fairly inexpensive ($6 for a little over 2 oz) and I love the fresh cucumber smell!! Don't get me wrong, I still love the ELF one, but this has blown that out of the water for me! SO, if you're looking for a great setting spray without breaking your wallet, try this one out!

MUSIC
-Nite 'n Day by Al B. SURE!: I'm OBSESSED....no further explanation needed.
-Africa by Toto: the beat just takes my mind to another world altogether ..PERFECT for me to unwind to!
- Let It Burn by Jazmine Sullivan: anybody that knows me knows how much I love old school music.  So, the fact that she revamped one of my favorite songs (Ready or Not by After 7) and made it new school???  Ugh my heart did back flips!!

MOVIES
-The Age of Adeline: ever since the promo for this film came out in the spring, I knew I had to see it!! I didn't make that a reality till mid August, but man was it worth it!! Blake Lively did a phenomenal job in telling us all that "age ain't nothing but a number" when it comes to true love.

Well, I believe that'll do it for now. Stay tuned for my next favorites post!! Thank you all so much for reading and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
