September/October Empties

Hello, beauty lovers!! So, after being super out of commission from virtually everything, I'm finally back with quite a large empties post! I've got a pretty nice selection of skincare and makeup (no haircare this time since my hair is braided up for the fall and maybe the winter also). But anywho, Like my other empties posts, I will be offering up my honest opinions about each product and whether or not I would repurchase them. So sit back, relax, and enjoy !

  • St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion: I had never tried a spray lotion before, so when I picked this up over the summer, I was not exactly sure what to expect from it. But, I had a little bit of faith in it since it is by St. Ives & my old holy grail lotion was by them. I must say, I was impressed!! This lotion really kept my skin moisturized and it was extremely convenient for days that I was rushing to get ready for work and didn't want to pump out my lotion. However, one thing I don't like about this product was the price. The regular price of this was $8 , and it is only 6.5 oz, which is kind of a con to me because I can get bigger bottles of lotion that work just as good for cheaper. So, the fact that this was marked down 90%, I wasn't too sore if it ended up not working out for me. So, I would repurchase this if the price is right, otherwise, I don't think so.
  • Simple Cleansing Micellar Water: I absolutely LOVE this!! My face felt so refreshed after using this on days that I wear no makeup or minimal makeup. Even my eyes weren't irritated when using this, and for me , that says a lot since my eyes get easily irritated. I personally don't use this when I wear a super full face because it takes me way too long and way too many cotton rounds to remove it all. But, it does work wonders for me! I've already repurchased it and plan on keeping this in my skincare routine. *Let me know if you guys want a skincare routine post from me!*
  • Assured Cotton Rounds: I've mentioned these in a empties and a favorites post already, so I won't go into too much details about it. Simply put, I love them and have already repurchased them!
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gummy multivitamins: these were super yummy! I could tell the difference in my nails mostly when I took these. Plus these were cheaper than the Vitafusion gummy vitamins and you get more vitamins (180 vs Vitafusion's 150 count) . I am using another brand at the moment, but I would for sure repurchase these again!
  • Ulta Super Stretch Fiber Mascara in Jet Black: the last couple months of using this mascara reminded why I loved this so much! It gave my lashes a crazy amount of length and volume (even though this was a lengthening mascara) . I have another tube ready to be used, and I would repurchase this mascara!
  • mini Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara: this mascara claims to condition, volumize, lengthen and curl your lashes. I'm not sure if my lashes are conditioned per se, but it definitely did the other three very well! I got to try this out via ipsy and I am so glad that I did! But like the St. Ives lotion, I just cannot get with the price. As great as this product was for me, I cannot pay $21 for a full size mascara. It sucks because it does work well for me, but I think I will just stick to drugstore mascaras and save my coins.
  • Elf Wet Gloss Clear Brow and Lash Mascara: my last mascara empty of the bunch, I did like how well this set my brows into place. However I don't think I will repurchase this simply because of the size. Wet N Wild has a clear mascara that works just as well for me and runs the same price as Elf's, but you get wayyy more product in the Wet n Wild one (8.5 ml vs. 2.5 mL)
  • Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub in Coconut Lime: wow, did this scrub change my life!! I've just started getting into scrubs over the summer, and I am kicking myself for not doing it before. I've noticed a big difference in my skin since incorporating a scrub into my bathing routine---,my skin is so much smoother and supple. Also, a lot of people have raved about the Tree Hut brand, so this mini size gave me a great opportunity to test it out. Plus, it smells so good!!! I always want a nice, cold margarita when I smell this! I've already repurchased this and am interested in trying out other scents!!
  • Tree Hut Shea Body Butter in Coconut Lime: this butter is super thick and super moisturizing!! I would apply this at night, and would often not need to put on lotion come morning!! Plus, did I mention how much the smell is bae???? Seriously, it's BAE. Like the scrub, I've repurchased and would love to try out more scents!
  • Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away shine minimizing cleanser: This cleanser blew my mind!! Having combo/oily skin, I'm always looking for products to help with that. This cleanser has definitely done that for me!! It smells very refreshing and light and has a slight lather, which threw me off a bit, but I am honestly still a fan! I have a full size stashed away and most likely will repurchase !
  • Wet n Wild Idol Eyes eyeliner in Mink Brown: very smooth and creamy liner!! I honestly didn't use it as a eyeliner because it blended right into my skin, but it was AMAZING as a brow pencil!! Plus, the little smudger on the end really helped to blend out the color. I'm not sure if they still sell these, but if so, I would rebuy this again!!
  • Elf Lip Exfoliator: this works really good to take off the dead skin on my lips before I apply my lippie of choice. I have bought another one , but I'm not certain if I would get it again because I kind of want to do more DIY  beauty things. But I would recommend it!!
  • NYC Super Sweet Gloss Stick in B'way Berry: gorgeous berry shade, but it broke so easily :( I honestly only got to use maybe half of it, really. Since this was a Dollar Tree find, I wasn't per se too hurt about it not working out. If they still carried this, I would honestly skip over it.
  • Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hand and Body Scrub: this product was okay. The smell, of course, was lovely like other products from this line are, but the scrub itself was kind of lackluster for me. But that could be because it sat on the shelf for a while, so it may not have worked as well as it could have. I may end up giving this scrub another chance once I use up some other ones in my stash.
  • Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate Mango Infusions Body Wash: really great body wash!! Softsoap usually never disappoints me with their body washes, so I had pretty high expectations for this one and they were indeed met! I would rebuy the full size--since this was the travel size--once I get through some of my other body washes.
  • Avalon Ageless Illuminating Serum: serum use is another thing that I just recently got into over the summertime. Quite a few beauty Youtubers talked about how essential a serum was in their skincare routine, so I started looking around at different serums to try out. This was actually the first serum I ever used, and I could start to tell a difference in my skin about two to three weeks of using it consistently. Even though I couldn't really tell that my skin was brighter --since this claimed to be an illuminating serum--I did notice that my skin felt moisturized for a longer period of time, so I still feel like that I should begin to incorporate the use of a serum in my skincare routine. I would possibly repurchase this , but based on the fact that it gave my skin an extra boost of moisture.
  • L'oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream: very well one of the best moisturizers I have used to date!! My skin did feel softer over time of using this cream, and I loved that I could use it both day and night , so it was like a one stop shop for me. Plus, I loved the fresh, clean light perfumey scent it had!! I would for sure rebuy this cream!!
  • Acure Day Cream: I actually used this up around the end of August , but I had lost the container in my room, so I decided to stick in this round of empties. I was a big fan of the moisture this gave my skin and the light citrusy scent--almost like a creamsicle. I'm not for sure if I would repurchase this because I can find other great moisturizers like this one for lower prices, but I would consider it.
  • Eau Thermale Avene soapless cleansing gel (for oily/blemish prone skin): really wonderful cleanser! Even though it was soapless, it still gave out a nice lather and the sea salt/oceany smell was out of this world!! Plus, my face didn't feel super dried out after using it--I have to now be careful about the cleansers because my face sometimes gets a little too dried out for my liking. I would possibly consider rebuying a bigger size of this!!
  • Noxzema Premium Pivot Twin Blade Razors (2 pack): I actually really like these razors! They do a great job of getting a close shave. Plus, Noxzema in general is one of my favorite brands on the market. I have quite a few razors left , but I'll use these sparingly because I don't think they carry this particular razor anymore.
  • Wet n Wild Mega Eyes Cream Eyeliner: this is one of my holy grail products!! It's so creamy and pigmented and does not budge at ALL!! Plus, it's very inexpensive--about $4. I have already repurchased this, but this is becoming a lot harder to find now. So let me know down below suggestions of some of your favorite inexpensive gel eyeliners! I have a few in mind I want to try out, but I'm always looking for more!
  • Secret pH Balanced deodorant in Berry Fresh: one of my holy grail deodorants! Every time I used this deodorant, I almost never get wet spots in my underarms! I won't go into too much more detail about it because I've raved about it over and over again. I've already repurchased it, but probably not this scent. The scent was okay, but I like the Shower Fresh scent more. Though it was nice to try out a new scent, I think I will go back to the Shower Fresh scent.
Whoo, we finally made it to the end!! Hopefully you guys find my reviews helpful and try some of these products out for yourselves! Thanks for reading and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
