February Favorites

Hey, guys! I'm coming with my beauty favorites for the month of February ---or the stuff I've reaching for the past couple weeks when I wanna get a little gussied up for whatever the occasion may be. So, without delay, let's get started , shall we?

  • Bath & Body Works Wild Citrus Sunflower body lotion: I mentioned this lotion back in my December favorites post and I still love it!! I'm sad, however, to report that I finally ran out of it :[
  • Elf Smudge Pots: I've been stalking these joints ever since I heard about them on Instagram, but up until recently, the only place that sold them was the e.l.f. website. However, on a random Walgreens run, there they were on the shelf, just calling me!! At $3 a pot, I couldn't say no. I ended up picking up two of the three shades available (Cruisin Chic & Brownie Points), but I've been using Brownie Points mainly as my base color for my eye looks. Aside from an eyeshadow, it can also be used as an eyeliner. The consistency of these is very creamy and smooth going on the eye!! They're even better than the Maybelline Color tattoo shadows that I also love too.
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: I received two samples of the primer potion when I purchased the Vice 3 palette last year. People have been hyping this primer up for as long as I can remember, so I figured why not give it a try?? At first, I was NOT a fan at all. But I think it was largely because I used way too much on my eye. But, I kept working with and man, does  it deliver!! The biggest success was actually Friday the 13th--I had put on my shadow around 3:30 pm and wore it all the way until 7:30 am Valentine's day morning--when I got home from work. And it still looked like I freshly did it!!! Roughly 16 hours of wearing it and it looked that good??? I wish I'd have gotten a picture, but it's okay . Now though I love the performance, the price is a VERY different story. The travel size is around $12-$13 and the full size primer runs about $20-$24 depending on the formula you choose [I believe that there are 4]. Maybe I'll invest in a full size, maybe I won't. We shall see. I'm interested in trying out the others, but the price....ehhhh.
  • Elf Studio brushes: Ya'll......these brushes are life!!! The quality of them is amazing as well as the price---only $3 a brush---and they're available in so many places from Walmart to Kmart to Target to Walgreens and so on! I believe that I own all but two or three of the brushes, but seriously, if you're a beginner in makeup or don't wanna spend a hand on quality brushes , get you some of these brushes!! You'll thank me later lol.
  • NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder : Usually, I don't wear powder because I forget about it lol. But I wanted to start due to me having combination/oily skin [the biggest problem areas being my cheeks & forehead]. So, I stumbled across this powder at Walmart and what really drew me in was the price--I think it was $2.75. Surprisingly, I really like it. It controls my oil well and doesn't clog up my skin at all. The downside, however, is that because it's loose, it's VERY messy to get out the container. Everytime, I always spill some. I definitely would recommend this powder, but if you can, choose the pressed kind [which I'll do once I run out] .
  • Elf Eyebrow Kit in Dark (not pictured)--everybody and their grandmother has been on an eyebrow kick for going on the last two years and there are now SO many items on the beauty market for specifically eyebrows, from stencils to pencils to gels to powders to pomades to kits. Personally , I actually don't really need to do anything special to my brows, but I do like to define and enhance them from time to time. This kit definitely gets the job done for me and it costs me a whole $3! I've purchased the medium kit recently and am interested to see if there's any real difference between the two color wise on my brows. I'll keep you updated.
  • Ecotools Six Piece Essential Eye Set (not pictured): This little kit of brushes is amazing!! For about $8, you get 5 brushes and the carrying case. The brushes in the kit are : Large Eye [a very fluffy top brush] , Highlighting [a cute little duster type of brush], Petite Eye Shading [a small flat brush], Smudge [like a pencil top], and Angled Crease [like a contour brush for the eyes]. They are all super soft and pick up color very well!! And since they're small, they're very travel friendly!
  • Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil (not pictured): I love this stuff!!!! I was hesitant at first because it had so many different oils in it and thought it was gonna be insanely thick, but to my surprise, it's very light on the lips and keeps them moisturized and soft!! I'm not sure if they sell it in stores anymore, but I'll be on the hunt for it!!
  • Maybelline Baby Lips in "Fierce N Tangy" (not pictured): Since I'm actually almost out of my Aquafina lip oil :(, I wanted to have a back up balm for whenever my lips start to dry out. I've heard about Baby Lips for roughly the last few years and how much so many people loved it, so when I finally caught them on sale at Walgreens. I figured why not try them out?? Lucky for me, there was also a BOGO free sale on that particular flavor and they happened to be the very last two. I have to say that I like the Baby Lips a lot. It applies smoothly and the scent is like a fresh glass of lemonade. Now, though they do have a sweet scent, they do not have a sweet taste, so I wouldn't recommend that you lick your lips a lot--it's nothing like a LipSmacker lip balm in the taste department. Also, I would suggest if you wanted to try them out, get a twin pack because it's usually cheaper.
  • Crown C416 Crease/Shadow brush: this was my first brush from Crown Brushes through ipsy , and I had never really heard anyone talk about this brand so I wasn't sure what to expect. Wow, did this brush impress me!! I honestly haven't put it down since I got it! The shadow side is so fluffy yet dense, so it applies my lid colors great as well as blend them out flawlessly!! And the crease side is a perfect pencil type brush to carve out the crease!
Thanks for reading and like always, Stay Beautiful!!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
