April Favorites

Hey. ya'll!! Today, I'm coming with my favorites for the month of April! But, this one will be a little different. I decided to also include other areas aside from beauty----like food, music, books, etc.
So, without any further delay, let us get started!!

BEAUTY
  • Hard Candy eye shadow palette in Birthday Suit: I have been loving on this palette like crazy!! This is the all matte palette and each shade is gorgeous!! They blend fairly easy and have decent pigmentation.
  • Urban Decay Vice 3 palette: I'm so , so, SO glad that I invested the $60 in this palette!! Every single shadow is just....I can't even. I just cannot even fathom how perfect they are!! They're so buttery  and pigmented! You can create so many looks with it, a couple of which I've included on my Instagram---feel free to follow me @xpaintedfacesx to check them out!
  • LA Colors Little Black Book of Eye-shadows--Natural Edition: this little guy has also been a go-to palette for me! I think that the colors are just amazing and pretty! And the best thing?? It only cost me $1!! YES, ONE WHOLE DOLLAR. I also have the Glam & Smoky edition and plan on doing a separate review on those as well in the future, so look out for that!
  • ELF Lip Exfoliator: y'all, this is one of my loves here!! I recently shopped my stash and discovered this again. I've been using this like cray since and I'm nearing the end of it. It gets my lips super smooth and moisturized!! One con I do have is the fact that it can dry out pretty easily, but there's a easy fix for it--just spray a little H2O and it's good to go!!
  • Milani Eye-shadow Primer: this primer is the BUSINESS. It glides on smoothly and I experience no amount of creasing with it!! The performance reminds me of the Urban Decay Primer Potion, which I talked about a little back in my February favorites, I believe---but this is just a third of the price. So if you can't quite get on board with shelling out $12-24 for UD (dependent on size and formula), spend about 6 or 7 bucks for a great quality product!
  • Dial 7 day Moisturizing Lotion: This lotion is the BUSINESS!!! Since I work in healthcare, I have to be mindful of what I use on my body so I don't irritate people's allergies. This lotion definitely does the trick!! Plus, it keeps my skin so moisturized!
  • Secret pH Balanced Deodorant: This had been one my favorites actually for a few years, but I recently rediscovered how much I love it!! I also mentioned this in my March Faves because it's just that great!! It doesn't wear off and leave me with wet spots like many other deodorants have.
  • Ulta Sunkissed Blush/Bronzer duo: Since I am pretty dark skinned, I don't necessarily see the purpose of wearing bronzer , but I have fallen in love with using it as a transition shade for my eye looks. It helps to set my primer and provides a nice base to build upon!
FOOD
  • Seneca Apple Chips: I like to snack just as much as the next person, but I don't always want some high calorie, high fat munchy to satisfy my cravings. Hence why one of my go to snacks are apple chips!! They have the crunch of a potato chip, yet the healthy sweetness of an apple!! One con I do have, however, is that they're so darn hard to find where I live :( my favorite flavors would be Dulce de Leche, Original and Granny Smith.
  • PopCorners chips in Kettle: aside from apple chips, I also love me some kettle corn! But I don't like when the pieces get stuck in my teeth and I spend hours on end picking them out. But with PopCorners, I can still enjoy the sweet and salty goodness of kettle corn and not have to worry about kernels wedged in between my teeth!!
  • Arizona Teas: I've been on the biggest Arizona kick lately, mainly because there are 2/ $1 sales like every other week. Seriously, they're so worth the money and there's TONS of different flavors on the market!! My favorites would be : Regular Arnold Palmer (half iced tea/half lemonade), Strawberry Arnold Palmer, Golden Bear Lemonade in Original and Strawberry, Blueberry White Tea, Green Tea & Raspberry Half & Half.
MUSIC
  • Fifth Harmony: I'm all for solid girl groups, and I definitely believe these five ladies have great potential to go far. I've been blaring their album, Reflection, in my car pretty much non stop the month of April! My favorites would be between Like Mariah, Reflection, and Sledgehammer.
  • Jhene Aiko: I have no real words to describe how amazing she is. I've been a fan of her since my B2K days (don't act like ya'll dont remember B2K! lol). She has one of the rare pure cut quality voices that needs NO amount of alteration or tuning! I could listen to her and feel so at peace. My current faves from her would be Spotless Mind, In Love We Trust, 3:16 pm (Burning Man) anad Mirrors.

Well, I believe that'll do it for now. Stay tuned for my next favorites post!! Thank you all so much for reading and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
