December Faves

Hey, all! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday :) [I get that not everyone celebrates Christmas, but'tis 'kay]. I decided to hop on and talk about the things I've been reaching for the most for the month of December and why I've been reaching for them: CoverGirl TRU Minerals Pressed Mineral Foundation in #6 "Soft Sable" -- it feels so light on my skin , yet it really does its job of evening out my skin tone on those days that I don't feel like fooling with liquid foundation [which is 98% of the time I put makeup on lol] Maybelline  Eyestudio Color Tattoo Metal 24 hr eyeshadow in #70 "Barely Branded" --- serves as a really great base to build any look upon!!  NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in #8 "Nutmeg" ---- the coverage I get from this concealer is the bomb.com & it's inexpensive as well! Plus, it's a nice highlight for when I fill in my brows.  Figs & Rouge Hand Cream --- I believe this is from...

Review : Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Body Wash

Hey, ya'll ! Long time, no speak. I've been a very busy bee, but I'm finally ready to get back on these good reviews. As you see based on the title, I'm reviewing the Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver body wash. Price:  3 oz sample size for $2.99 on NH website, full size [13 oz] for $11.99 on NH website/$11.49 at the Vitamin Shoppe Specs: This body wash claims to be anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and healing. Also, it was designed for people with  oily, troubled and dry skin , however it has been said that people with other skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap, on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is neem oil and vetiver. Neem oil is actually the basis of the practice Ayurveda, an ancient Indian practice of natural healing, while vetiver is used in tropical communiti...

Review: Nubian Heritage Shea Butter Soap

Hey, ya'll!! So, I'm finally getting on the reviews on all the Nubian Heritage products that I received a little while back [in case you missed that post about what I received, click here to read more].  As you read in the title, I'm reviewing the Shea Butter Soap with Lavender and Wildflowers--or the soap in the orange box lol. The soap costs about $3.99 at my local beauty supply shop, $4.49 on the Nubian Heritage website or $4.99  at the Vitamin Shoppe. It claims to be hydrating, healing and calming for the skin and on the back, it talks about some of the ayurvedic properties about some of the focal ingredients in the soap, which for this soap, was lavender, wildflower buds, vitamin E and shea butter :) on another side of the packaging, there's a brief history of how Nubian Heritage got their start [which is included on all their body and bath products, as well as the Nubian Heritage website ]. I decided to try this one first because of the fact that my skin was...

My first Ipsy Bag: Street Style

Hello, beautiful people!! Today, I'm coming to talk quickly about my very first Ipsy bag :) So in case you've never heard of it, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription founded by Youtuber Michelle Phan on the basis of  allowing others to finally figure out what beauty products are right for them. Ipsy offers its subscribers a mixture of  5 deluxe size samples and full sized beauty products from different companies (makeup, hair, skin, etc). and the best part??? It costs $10 a month....YES! Only 10 dollars. So, after researching and corresponding with my Youtube homegirl Danielle (shout to you, Miss Danielle!), I decided to take the plunge last month and subscribe. So I received the Street Style Glam bag in mid September and here's the 5 products that I received: Mitchell & Peach Luxury Hand Cream Nourish Organics Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser Hikari Lipstick in "Cabarnet" Pacifica 7 Nail Polish in " Red Red Wine" Be A Bombshell Smooth ...

I got Nubian Heritage Goodies!!

Hello, all you beautiful folks out there! I just HAD to hop on here to show you guys the stuff that I received in the mail!! So in case you don't follow my other blog, I'm a guest blogger for Global Couture and what I do is contact different natural hair companies--both mainstream and smaller businesses--to feature them both on the GC blog and my personal blog (read more about it here ). Well, one of the companies I contacted was Nubian Heritage, which some consider to be a sister company of Shea Moisture. Long story short, the person in charge of their PR, Jeanine,  had explained to me that their company was not a natural hair marketed company, so they didn't feel that they would be a good fit to interview. Oh, but how God and the universe works in mysterious ways :)  though they declined my original request, Jeanine was nice enough to offer to send me some of the company's bath and body samples to review on my personal blog!! I was ecstatic and honored, so of course...

Launching My Second Blog!!

Hello, beautiful people!! Welcome to my second blog, Paint Me Beautifully ! After quite a while of tossing and turning and toying, I chose to create another blog to address any and everything related to beauty---makeup, hair, skin , body, you name it! Aside from importing one's outer beauty, I will also focus on improving one's inner beauty as well.  Since I've personally struggled with defining the concept of beauty (what girl doesn't, right?? LOL), I figured that maybe this could be a way to not only help out others but to help myself too in the process. Now, I am in no way, shape or form abandoning my other blog, Bare Soul--that is my first baby and I will continue to nurture it and watch it grow---I just figured it needed a sibling to play with :) lol. What to Expect on Here : Features [very similar to the Spotlight Series on my other blog] Product Hauls Product Reviews Possibly Manicure Mondays ----I'm still on the fence about that, but we'll see! ...
