Beauty Supply 5: Blushes

Hey, all you beauties! Welcome back and if you're new around these parts, I welcome you! Today is going to be another installment in my Beauty Supply 5 series! If you happened to have missed my first 2 posts about it , you can click right here to check out the foundations/concealers, or here for the brows! As you see by the title, this one is all about one of my biggest loves: blushes ! To me, blush is absolutely necessary because it gives a bit more life to the face! And honestly, until maybe about 5 years ago, finding blushes that fit people of color was a bit of a task. But I think I found some great options for you! So, if you guys are interested in some good blush options, then keep on reading!

  • Black Radiance Baked Blushes [retail $4.99, 4 shades]
I love these!! The pigmentation is perfect---not too much but not too little, and the dome shape allows the product to last a lot longer!! Now these are baked, so you'll likely have to scrape the to layer a bit to get more of the color.  The color selection is on the smaller side and tends to run a bit deeper, so if you have super fair skin, you might not want to go for these. But my folks with a little more melanin to their skin, like myself, will love these!!
  • Elf Blush Palettes [retail $6.00 , 2 powder & 2 cream palettes]

I talk about these all the time because they're just that good!! There are four palettes total (2 powder, 2 cream) and they each have 4 colors that , in my opinion, flatter multiple skin tones!! I have the two powder ones (Light and Dark) and love them both to pieces!! I've not tried the cream ones (Soft and Bold), but have heard great things about them!!
  • NYX HD Blushes [retails $6.99, 24 shades available]

NYX has just been killing the beauty game for me the last couple of years!! I've always been a fan of their blushes, but was slightly disheartened when the powder blushes were discontinued. But when I started seeing these HD blushes pop up, I was intrigued. A few swatches of some of the colors, I was sold!! The colors are a nice range from neutral and subtle to bold and bright, and I just adore these!!

  • Nicka K Blush Duo [retail $1.99, 6 shades]
These are some of the cheapest but highly pigmented blushes I own and love!! I've used and abused the ones I own and for good reason!! These are also very pigmented, so again if you're looking for something more subtle, these are probably not for you.
  • City Color Be Matte Blushes [retail $5.00, 4-12 shades depending on the site]
Last but not least, these are just the right amount of pigmentation---not super bold but not super subtle. But these can be blended out or built up to your liking  which I like also!! Unlike my other options, these tend to run more on the natural side vs. the bold side , so if you want a more natural blush, these might be the one for you!

*Honorable Mentions:

    • L'Oreal True Match blush in Soft Sun [retail $7.97, 12 shades in total]

I don't really care for the True Match blushes to be honest, but Soft Sun just does something special for me! I just recently discovered this color about a few months back and have been loving it since!! It's the perfect truly everyday neutral blush!!
    •  Colourpop Super Shock Cheek [retail $8.00, 16 shades]

I spoke about these a couple times on the blog, and I adore these!! These are a cream to powder finish, so I tend to reach for these when I want to do a quick look or want to intensify my powder blush just a tad. Plus, there's a nice color selection to choose from!!

    •  Milani Baked Blushes [retail $5.29, 12 shades]

These are a great multi purpose product!! Aside from being a blush, you can also use these as highlighters! Most of these tend to have a shimmer finish [I believe only two of the shades are matte], so it's perfect to use if you're in a rush and don't have a ton of time to beat your face!!
    • Wet n Wild ColorIcon blushes [retail $2.97, 5 shades]

I don't even really need to say how much I love these WNW blushes!!
These are pretty old school but work absolutely phenomenal! They last all day and blend out so nicely!!

Well, that wraps it up for my top blush picks!! Hopefully you've found some good products within this list to try out for yourselves! Thanks for reading, and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
