Beauty Supply 5: Highlighters

Hey, all you beauties! Welcome back and if you're new around these parts, I welcome you! Today is going to be another installment in my Beauty Supply 5 series! If you've missed any of my previous posts in this series, click right here to catch up!! As you see by the title, this one is all about highlighters! The last few years, highlighters have been making their mark within the beauty community. Whether it's a healthy lit from within or that blinding headlights type of glow, highlighters can also make a world of a difference for the face!  And I think I found some great glow worthy options  for you! So, if you guys are interested in some good highlighter options, then keep on reading!

  • Essence Pure Nude Highlighter---"Be My Highlight" [retail $4.49 ; 1 shade; available at Ulta Beauty stores, ulta.com, target.com and the Essence website]
    • This is the newest addition to my highlight collection and I don't know why I waited for SO long to try it!! Spoiler alert: this is one of my August beauty faves, and for good reason!! { You'll have to check that out at the end of the month to get all my thoughts on this, though.}
      • UPDATE: they've since released 4 other shades of this highlighter!!
  • Academy of Colour Strobe & Glow Palette [retails $12.99; available at Kohl's stores and kohls.com]
    • My lovely dear Jen  (@beauddiction on Instagram) is the one that got my attention talking about this Kohl's exclusive brand with their palettes, and I think this one is a great one! It reminds me of the ABH Glow Kits , but for roughly 1/4 of the price! Also, there's at least 1 shade for every skin tone to use , which I appreciate! Hopefully they release more versions of this palette, like an all gold/bronze one for deep skin tones!
  • Wet N Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powders---"Crown of My Canopy", "Precious Petals" [retails $4.99; 6 shades in total; the two shades I own are available at multiple drugstores and the Wet N Wild website, the other 4 are online exclusive at the moment]
    • I honestly don't even need to say anything about these. I  am so glad that WNW made these permanent because they are some the BEST highlighters that I've tried! They just blend on my melanin skin so nicely and is a perfect balance between a soft glow and a BAM! in you face glow.
  • Milani Strobelite Instant Glow Powder---"Glowing" [retails $9.99; 4 shades; available at CVS, Walgreens, Discount Drug Mart , Walmart and the Milani website]
    • I had to force myself  to put this down because I literally could not quit using this!! I've mentioned this a few times already, but for good reason! Glowing is an amazing true gold color that is so flattering for deeper skin tones!! Like the Academy of Colour palette, Milani does have at least 1 shade that can work for EVERY skintone!!
  • Elf Baked Highlighter---"Blush Gems", "Moonlight Pearls" [retails $3.00; 4 shades; available at Walmart, CVS, KMart, Target and  the ELF website]
    • These are the most subtle highlighters I have, which is great for minimal makeup days or sometimes when I wear no face makeup, depending on my skin that day.  You do have to scrape off the top layer a little since these are baked, but I am just all about these!!

Of course, I have an honorable mention for you guys:
    • Black Radiance Artisan Baked Bronzers---"Gingersnap", "Caramel", "Rose Gold", "Beautiful" [retails $4.99; 4 shades; available at Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens and the Black Radiance website]
      • These are technically to be used as bronzers, but I use them as highlighters (I personally prefer matte bronzers over shimmer bronzers), but these are still well loved!! BR has since reformulated these, so now they're more of a blinding highlight, whereas the older shades are more on the healthy glow side. Since these are baked like the ELF ones, you'll have to scrape it a little to get to the color.

Well, we've reached the end !! Hopefully you've found some good products within this list to try out for yourselves! Thanks for reading, and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
