Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on reading!
Makeup
- Colourpop Element of Surprise palette: this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised!
- Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette: another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme . Also, I don't have to work with the shimmers like the other CP palettes I have!!
- Milani "Most Loved Mattes" palette: literally every matte shade a person would need in one palette!! There's warm , cool and neutral toned shades that any skin tone can pull off with ease!!
- CoverFX Mattifying Setting Spray: absolutely love this setting spray!! It holds my makeup in place, as well as keep me matte without making my skin feel dried out. Only thing: you HAVE to shake it up , or you'll have some white dots on your face.
- MUR Ultra Pro Glow 2: if you love more warm toned/fiery highlighters, you will LOVE this!! The formula in the pan is a little stiff, but once applied to the skin, they're so beautiful!! You get 8 awesome shades in one palette that can work for multiple skin tones without breaking the bank!!
- Wet N Wild To Reflect Shimmer Palette---"Rose Golden Goddess/Sand-Gria Castles": I actually had this highlighter in my collection for quite some time, so I finally decided to dig it out to see if I still wanted to hold on to it; and I gotta say, I definitely do!! It's a bronze/rose gold mixture that I feel tan to deep dark skin tones (like myself) will love, and it's under $10!! It does have a domed shape that many baked products tend to have, so I say scrape the top layer off a little to get to the pigment .
- Sephora #38 PRO Featherweight Crease Brush: probably one of the softest crease brushes I've ever used!! It allows my shadows to blend out a bit easier and seamlessly!!
- L'oreal Paradise Enchanted Peach Scented Blush---"193 Charming": I've been wearing this blush nonstop since I got it! It's a bronze toned peach orange that gives a beautiful glow to my cheeks & I am here for it!
- Hard Candy Cashmere Silk Demi-Matte Creme Lip Color--"Biscotti": this gorgeous burnt orange lippie is totally getting me ready for fall!! It's more of a sheer satiny wash of color, but that's fine with me since I have been more into sheer and glossy finished lately.
- ELF Lip Plumping Gloss --"Mocha Twist": this is a perfect brown peach nude lip gloss if you want more of that juicy look to your lips!! It does tingle on the lips , but it's not too intense like the Too Faced Lip Injection glosses that I can't stand. It reminds me of the Buxom glosses , but a whole lot cheaper!!
- Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss---"Rosy Future": another awesome everyday lip gloss!! I have one other Revlon gloss and I like it, but Revlon isn't really a brand that calls my name. But when it was going around that this was a dupe to the Fenty Beauty lip gloss, I figured I would see for myself. I won't it's an exact dupe, but it's pretty close!! It gives my lip a slight rosy tint and is really comfortable to wear!
- Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer: I'm so glad I dug this out my collection and started using this again! It's not super thin but not crazy thick either, which helps it gives the perfect amount of coverage!! Currently, I use #16--"Pot de Creme" and it's my perfect concealing shade!!
- AOA Studio Wonder Cover HD Concealer: this concealer really surprised me! Most beauty items that fall in the $1 category are not very good quality, but this gave me really great coverage and minimal creasing!! Currently, I use the shade "Warm Honey" to conceal and highlight & though it is a bit bright, I can work with it to my liking.
Skin/Body
- B&BW Mineral Co. body spray---"Rose Quartz": Since I had raved about the Versace Bright Crystal perfume in my last month's favorites, I was on the hunt for even more girly scents to wear & I fell in love with this one!! It's girly but warm and I'm here for it!
- Comptoir Sud Pacifique eau de toilette spray--"Vanille Blackberry": ohhhhh this perfume is amazing!! It's the perfect mix of fruity and warm and I feel so classy wearing it!! I get a ton of compliments every time I wear and cannot wait to get my hands on the full size!!
- Olay Age Defying Classic Eye Gel : I am #obsessed with this eye gel!! I've been noticing that my undereyes are not as dark or as puffy. It's gentle enough to use both morning and night, and it's good for people just getting into more anti aging skincare.
- Physicians Formula Refreshmint Cucumber & Bamboo Eye Depuffer: I'm not into PF as a brand really, but I was blown away by this cooling gel stick! The mint wakes me up when I'm super tired , while the cucumber is super soothing and cooling on my skin!
Hair
- Hawaiian Silky 14-in-1 Apple Cider Vinegar Leave in Conditioner: since I wore my hair braided the entire summer, I really got into spray leave in conditioners because I still want to take care of my curls underneath my braids , as well as the actual braids so they could last. and this would have to be the best one I discovered!! I heard a lot of people rave about the original Hawaiian Silky product for years and I do like that, but I didn't want something that would make my hair feel waxy and coated with consistent use. So when I saw this in Sally's, I was intrigued because both black castor oil and apple cider vinegar was in this and i love both for my fro. I was blown away when I kept using this because my scalp normally gets itchy and dry when I don't wash it for a while, but it didn't because of this!! Plus the yummy apple smell sold me also!
Well, that is all my favorites for August! Though I'm sad summer is ending, I'm excited for fall to come! Let me know: what are some of your August favorites and non-favorites? I'd love to know!! As always , thanks for reading and Stay Beautiful!!
