Beauty Supply 5 Intro: Foundations/Concealers

hey all you beauties!!

So today's post is all about a new collab /series! I joined forces with my girl Ashlan (@beautysupplybeauty) to help bring you all our top five drugstore/ beauty supply finds that we just love to death and can't live without! Ash and I can both agree that as a whole, makeup can get a bit pricey especially if you're darker in skintone. A lot of times, the drugstore is not darker girl friendly, especially when it comes to foundation and concealer. So,  if you're interested in my top 5 products, then just keep reading!

1) Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation #320 Soft Sable-----this has become one of my favorites for quite some time! It has roughly medium coverage that is buildable, keeps me pretty matte and it's inexpensive. Plus, I'm a sicker for the squeeze tube packaging!! (around $7-8 at most drugstores)

2) Revlon Nearly Naked #290 Cappuccino----this one is a little more watery consistency , but it also delivers buildable coverage and a nice satin matte finish!! Plus it has SPF 20, so this would be bomb for the warmer months!! The only thing I would change is the packaging. I wish that it had a pump or was in a squeeze tube. (Around $8-10 at most drugstores, however they don't really sell the darker colors)

3) Maybelline Mineral Power Foundation Dark #3 "Cocoa"---- this was my ish for the longest time!! It has such a nice natural finish and is perfect for those 'no makeup' makeup days when you may still wanna wear foundation, but not feel weighed down. Like the Revlon Nearly Naked , there's SPF in this as well [SPF 18]. (around $7 in most drugstores)

4) L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte #112 Cocoa----out of all my foundations , this one is the most mattifying and long wearing!! The coverage is bomb as well! The only issues I have with this product is the lack of color selection for darker skin tones [seriously, GET IT TOGETHER]  & the heavy orange undertone upon application ($10-12 in most drugstores)

5) And the last of the Mohicans: L.A. Girl Pro HD Concealer [Dark Cocoa , Espresso, Chestnut, Toast]----literally everyone and their Great Aunt Mary been hyping this concealer up like no tomorrow, and I'm happy I finally jumped on the bandwagon. It gives such great coverage and its small size make it perfect for travel!! On days when I'm really crunched for time , I will pull this out and go to town on the uses. That's another thing I love: it's a multi use product. Aside from concealer, it can go as a foundation, eyeshadow base/primer, cream bronze, cream contour, color correction, you name it!! ($2-3 in local beauty supply stores, ikatehouse.com or the L.A. Girl website)

Honorable Mentions:

  • Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation #95 Coconut
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless foundation #355 Coconut and #360 Mocha
  • Black Opal True Color Liquid Makeup "Black Walnut"
  • Maybelline Superstay Better Skin foundation in #95 Coconut
Well, that wraps it up for my top picks!! Be sure to go check out Ashlan's favorites here & make sure you give her all the love in the world!! Thanks for reading and like always , Stay Beautiful!!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

August Favorites 2018.

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
