Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit: Lip Products

Hello, beauties!! Welcome back & if you're brand new to my blog, welcome!! So, as you see the title, today is part 3 aka the finale of my drugstore starter kit, which talks all about my absolute makeup obsession: the lips! I have SO many lip products, yet I continue to buy more and more & I just can't seem to stop. I do have my posts about my face product recommendations, as well as the eye recommendations already up, so if you want to know about those, click here to check out the face or here to check out the eyes!  Alright, no more talking, let's get into this!

LIP BALMS
Softlips 5-in-1 Lipcare Cube (retails $3.99)

The cube packaging makes it look so sleek & the multi benefit formula really does nourish my lips before I apply any other lip products.

C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve (retails $7.50)

This keeps my lips super hydrated and soft while I'm applying the rest of my makeup or just as a simple lip balm. It does smell like rose, but it's not overly strong or old lady. I also like that you can use this on multiple parts of your body! I've thrown a little of this on my hands or elbows when I'm a little ashy & don't have my lotion with me. A small bit really does go a long way!!

Milani Moisture Lock Lip Oil ---"Revitalizing Grapefruit" (retails $6.97)

I recently mentioned this in my June favorites, I believe, & it's still is one of the best! This one claims to prep and prime the lips for any lip products (lip liners, lipstick, lipgloss, etc) and it definitely holds true to that claim.

LIP LINERS
NYX Slim Lip Pencils (retails $3.49-3.99)

The slim pencils from NYX are one the best wooden pencil formulas currently on the market!! They're pigmented, long lasting and becoming more and more accessible by the day (Walgreens has recently started carrying NYX. You can also find them at Target, Ulta, Bed Bath & Beyond and beauty supply stores).

Colourpop Lippie Pencils (retails $5.00)

Out of all the lip liners I will mention, Colourpop has to be my favorite formula ever!! They are super creamy , pigmented, comfortable and last all day long!! They have a ginormous color selection, so anyone can find something they will love! Whether it's a neutral, vampy, subtle or bold, Colourpop will meet your need! Only complaint I have is that they sharpen odd---meaning the inside of the pencil will often fall out once sharpened.

NYX Slide on, Glide On (retails $7.99)

To me, these are the more accessible version of the Colourpop liners.  They run about a few bucks more & the color selection is not as wide, but they're still worth it!! They're not as creamy, but they do last a lot longer on the lips & still are fairly comfortable!!

Milani Color Statement (retails $3.99-4.97)

Another great wooden lipliner formula that is creamy, inexpensive and comfortable!!

Jordana Easyliner for Lips (retails $2.29)

This is one of the easiest lipliners to use because it's retractable!

LIPSTICKS

*To be completely honest, the lipstick brands below have a lot of similar qualities. They all have a huge selection of colors and finishes for reasonable prices!! I will say though that if you're on the cruelty free side of things, WNW and Milani are gonna be your go to brands!!

Maybelline Color Sensational (retails $5.99)

Milani Color Statement (retails $5.29)

Wet n Wild Megalast (retails $1.99)

Revlon Super Lustorous (retails $4.99)

LIQUID LIPSTICKS

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips (retails $6.00)

I personally love the formula on these!! A lot of people complain about how drying they can be, but I've had very few issues.  They are not per se the best, but are certainly not the worst! I have a few more colors on my list to try out.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips (retails $6.00)

These are super comfortable!! They're more of a satin matte finish, meaning that they do last a good bit of time, but do transfer more than the Ultra Mattes.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams (retails $5.99)

These were some of the first matte liquid lippies I've tried and I still love these now!! The formula of these are like the Matte X lippie stix from Colourpop---they are a comfortable matte lip option!

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creams (retails $7.99)

These are similar to the CP Ultra Mattes, but are a bit drier. So , I always make sure that I prep and moisturize my lips before I apply the color, but I adore these!!

Ulta Matte Lip Cream (retails $9.00)

These are a more recent find, but are really comfortable!! The color selection is not quite as large, unlike some of my other options, which I feel that beginners would appreciate since there's less chance of becoming overwhelmed!!

Nicka K True Matte Liquid Lipsticks (retails $2.99)

These work way better than their price point!! I've had some cheap liquid lipsticks that work just as cheap, but these are one of the few that are a winner in my book!!

Blackheart Cosmetics Matte Lip Cream (retails $4.50)

These are similar to the NYX Soft Matte lip creams, but just a tad bit thinner.

LIP GLOSSES

NYX Butter Gloss (retails $4.99)

I promise that NYX didn't sponsor me to talk about them lol, but these glosses are so lovely!! They're about a medium pigmentation, meaning that you can go sheerer or more opaque with the coverage!  There's a TON of colors to pick from and they smell like cake batter!!

NYX Intense Butter Gloss (retails $5.99)

These are the more opaque relative of the Butter Glosses, but are just as loved by yours truly!! Often, I'll reach for these when I want to wear just a liner underneath or just this alone!

Alright ya'll, we've made it!!  Hopefully, you still  aren't too overwhelmed with all the suggestions, but I do hope that you find some great suggestions to try out for yourselves!!  Once again, if you haven't checked out my  suggestions for the face or eyes, be sure to do so!  Thanks so much for reading and like always, Stay Beautiful!!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
