Dupe, Dud or Better: Bairly Sheer Surestay vs Laura Mercier Translucent

Hello, beauty lovers!! Welcome back & if you're new, I welcome you!!  Today is gonna be another installment on my Dupe, Dud or Better series!! I really enjoy comparing different products to each other to help my other fellow beauty lovers to hopefully save some coins!! Especially since these brands are just popping out products back to back lately, so we don't really get to enjoy what's in our collection. So, today, we're comparing two powders to see if they're dupes or not : the Bairly Sheer Surestay Translucent powder and the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose setting powder. I've done a couple of these already, so you can click here to check out my thoughts! If you guys are interested in my thoughts comparing these two powders, let's get rolling!!

SIMILARITIES

  1. The claims : Both powders claim to be longwearing, control oil and work for all skin tones.
  2. The feel: they both feel very smooth and silky to the touch.
  3. The color: they both have a bone color. It isn't stark white, so deeper skin tones are able to use it.
  4. No flashback: neither give me a white cast in flash photography.
  5. Packaging: Both are in a hard plastic jar with a medium sized holed sifter.

DIFFERENCES

  1. The price: LM runs about $23 for the travel size and $38 for the full size, while BS runs about $7-13 for one size
  2. The size: LM travel size is about 9 grams (0.33 oz), while BS is 10 grams (0.34 oz).
  3. Shade selection: LM now has two shades of the translucent powder (the original--fair to tan skin tones, and Medium Deep--for medium/deep to deep skintones) ;BS has only one shade
  4. Size offerings: LM does have both the travel size and the full 1 oz size; BS only has the one size
  5. Availability: BS is found in select Walmart and RiteAid stores, while LM is sold exclusively at Sephora stores and sephora.com

THE VERDICT

These are super similar to me, so I would say that Bairly Sheer is a dupe for the Laura Mercier. I actually have experimented and set each side of my face with one of the powders & could not really tell much of a difference!!

Well, hopefully this was helpful and ya'll can save a little more coint! Thanks so much for reading, and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
