Beauty Supply 5: Setting Powders

Hey, all you beauties! Welcome back and if you're new around these parts, I welcome you! Today is going to be yet another installment in my Beauty Supply 5 series! If you've missed any of my previous posts in this series, click right here to catch up!! As you see by the title, this one is all about setting powders! As a woman of color, powders are so difficult to find that don't make me look ghostly or ashy. But, I think I got some that are all the way  on point! So, if you guys are interested in some good setting powder options, then keep on reading!

  • Black Opal Invisible Oil Blocking Powder [retails $9.99]
    • I raved about this powder in the last couple favorites, but seriously, it's so good!! It does a great job of setting my concealer and controlling my oils! There's both a  loose and pressed version of this powder, depending on your preference.
  • CoverGirl Queen Collection Lasting Matte Pressed Powder [retails $8.49, 6 shades]
    • Do I even need to say anything else??? If you've been following me, you knew this one was on here!! I recommend this all the time to everyone!! it's mattifying but comfortable to wear!
  • LA Colors Mineral Pressed Powder [retails $3.99, 15 shades]
    • This is a more recent find, but it's so silky and smooth!! Not the best for oil control, but it's one of the most comfortable powders I own!
  • NYX No Filter Finishing Powder [retails $13.99, 15 shades]
    • It took me a while to try this, but once I did, I couldn't put it down!! It gives such a nice healthy sheen to the skin!! I had to make myself put it down because I kept picking this up!
  • Black Radiance Pressed Powder [retails $4.99, 13 shades]
    • This is  an oldie but goodie! It's jut a classic go to powder that I use with and without makeup!
Honorable Mentions
  • Maybelline FIT ME! Matte + Poreless Pressed Powder [retails $5.94, 12 shades]
    • This not only mattifies, it also minimizes the appearance of the pores!! It doesn't make you look or feel cakey!!
  • Bairly Sheer Surestay Translucent Powder [retails $6.97]
    • I actually do have a DDB post about this already up if you wanna check out my thoughts about it in detail, but this is bomb--plain and simple!!
  • ELF HD Powder [retails $6.00, 3 shades]
    • This powder is super smooth on my skin!! Only thing is that I can't take flash photography with it because it has silica in it, so the white cast is real lol.  Also, the packaging is a little mess messy now!!
  • ELF Perfect Finish HD Powder [retails $6.00]
    • This is a nice drugstore translucent option!! I love that it's a pressed powder, so no mess!!
Well, we've reached the end !! Hopefully you've found some good products within this list to try out for yourselves! Thanks for reading, and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
