January Favorites

Hola, beauties!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I know---I've been gone for quite some time, but I am back finally and plan on being more consistent with posting! So with all that being said, let's jump right into the post, which as you can tell by the title , is my monthly favorites for the month of January (more like October-January lol) ! This month surprisingly went by fairly slow , but still February is upon us! I've got to go back to some old faithfuls but still incorporate some new things in , as well. So let us get started, shall we?

*Like usual, I'll be including all areas in my favorites--beauty, food, music, etc.

Beauty

  • Pur Cosmetics DreamWorks Trolls palette:
This palette is the absolute business!! You get a mix of  some nice neutrals and pops of color to create just about any look, from everyday to smoky eye to va va voom over the top!! And for under $50?!?! You really cannot beat it! I think beauty junkies like myself , as well as beginners, would really enjoy this palette. This is a limited edition palette, so if you want it , grab it asap!

  • Meet Matt(e) Trimony eyeshadow in Matt Kumar

I received this in one of my ipsybags & have been using it non stop since!! It's a gorgeous cranberry/red/brown color that is perfect for warming up the crease, deepening the outer v & built up on the lid! I'm honestly suprised that I haven't hit pan on it yet with how often I use it. I may just end up buying the palette in the future just for this shade---it's that bomb!!

  • Femme Couture Get Locked Makeup Setting Spray
Honestly, this had been my most used setting spray for the last 6 months!! It just holds my makeup in place so well, I hardly need to touch up . I have combination/oily skin, so I'm all about finding a good setting spray to lock and load everything, & this has definitely done that for me! You can only find this brand exclusively at Sally's Beauty Supply, so go check out this setting spray!

  • ELF High Definition Powder in "Sheer"

I honestly love this translucent powder!! It makes my skin feel velvety soft and smooth!! Now you have to be mindful about how you apply this---I personally have to melt this into my skin & not use too much, otherwise I will experience flashback , which is not a good look on anyone---especially if you're darker. But when used correctly, it does wonders for me! ELF has since changed the packaging so it's more user friendly, but overall I do highly recommend this powder!!

  • ABH Clear Brow Gel

Ya'll, I didn't want to like this.....I really did not...but I do. It really does hold my brows in place ALL DAY LONG . Whether it's raining, freezing or super hot, my brows do not budge when I use this to set. I'm not quite ready to commit to buying the full size, but I definitely will one day.

  • C. O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm

This has been saving my lips this winter, for real!! Whenever I use this at night, I wake up the next morning and my lips do not feel super cracked and dry. They are nice , hydrated and soft! A lot of poeple talk about the agave lip mask by Bite Beauty & how amazing it is, but I was not prepared to spend $26 on that--plus Sephora is like 45 minutes from me, so I took my behind to B&BW and forked over the $8 for this and it has changed my life for the better!! I can definitely tell the difference in my lips when I don't use this. So if you have an issue with very dry, cracked lips but don't want to spend a finger on a lip treatment, , you need this in your life!!

  • Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum

I stumbled upon this at my Ulta & gave it a whirl, in hopes of finding something just a good as the L'Oreal Texture Perfector (since that's discontinued =[ ). This is not exactly like that, but it's close enough for my liking. My skin has felt a lot smoother since using this and my pores do not appear as large in appearance. The only con I have is the initial smell it leaves on my skin while it's not fully absorbed---it's a bit of a fishy smell, but it goes away once it's absorbed completely. So if you have a problem with a rough texture to your skin, enlarged pores or are just in the market for a new serum, try this one out!

  • Olay Fresh Effects Clear Skin Swirled Mattifier

This has been a holy grail for me for actually quite some time, but I just started using it again recently & remember  why I loved it so much! It not only moisturizes my skin, it helps mattify like a dream. I use this when I wear makeup (it can also be used as a primer), as well as when I do not & my skin just feels refreshed! I'm also a sucker for the citrus/mint scent!! It has a slightly greenish tint to it, which  is supposed to help with redness ( I personally do not have a problem with redness). I believe that this is discontinued as well, but I still see it pop up in some drug stores, so I'll be racking up on this stuff !

Music

These have just been my go-to as of lately:
Miscellaneous (this is where I place mainly entertainment, food, TV, books, etc.)

  • Shows/Movies
    • Ed, Edd & Eddy: if you're a kid of the 90s, you know that this was one of the best & longest running cartoons around.
    • On Top of the Earth: a beautiful love story in the  French language , that I'm also.deeply fond of.

Well 84 years later lol, I believe that'll do it for now. Stay tuned for my next favorites post!! Thank you all so much for reading and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

August Favorites 2018.

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
