February Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! It's favorites time once more!! February goes so fast every year, but I'm excited because that means March is here (which means my birthday's coming close).  So if you want to know my favorites for the month of February, then just keep reading!

HAIR

Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey: awesome sealer that gives my coils a crazy bit of shine! I've been reaching for this for the last 7-8 wash days, as well as throughout these weeks  to soothe dry scalp or take down my twists and braids! It looks like it'd be a heavy grease, but surprisingly, it's really light and spreads smoothly!

SKIN

Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Serum: as stated in previous posts, I've been trying to do better with my skin care since entering my 20s. One of the standout products I used was the  Youth Code Texture Perfector serum from L'oreal. But since that one is discontinued, I've been looking for a good replacement. Enter in this serum!! Since using this, my skin texture has been so much smoother and even!  I only apply this at night time as instructed, but if you have a bit of texture you're wanting to get rid of, you need this in your life!

Sephora Collection Micellar Cleansing Water (Charcoal): This is one of the few micellar waters I feel actually works! I've been reaching for this as my morning cleanser, and it pulls out any extra dirt and oil that my skin may have created overnight. It's not overly drying , either!

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash Off Treatment: I've also been trying to do masks more frequently, and this one has been my go to! I like to use this on days that I have a full high cover face of makeup or if I have a random breakout, and it really is an intense treatment! I have a couple under the surface pimples and I applied this as a spot treatment, and they were so much flatter when I washed it off! A little goes such a long way!

MAKEUP

NYX In Your Element Eyeshadow Palette (Fire): this collection had a ton of controversy because of the hefty $30 price tag for the palettes. But honestly, they're worth it! NYX has been one of my favorite brands for a long time, and they've seldom had a product that has let me down. This palette is like a love child of the ABH Subculture palette and the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone with the wearable neutrals  and pops of color!!

The Nubian Palette by Juvia's Place: it's a perfect compact neutral palette! the mattes are really blendable, and the shimmers are like silk! Like the Masquearde mini, I was blown away by the quality and would love to pick up more palettes from Juvia's Place.

Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette (Mauve): this was another brand that took the beauty world by the horns. These were actually on my anti haul list, but oh was I wrong to write them off so fast! I picked this up during the fall Sephora VIB sale  after swatching it. IT HAD TO COME HOME WITH ME. It's the perfect palette to use for Valentine's Day with all the pink and burgundy tones! Plus the small size makes it great to travel with!

Covergirl Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner (Truffle): though I love my black eyeliner, sometimes it can be a bit harsh on a everyday basis (especially when I don't want to wear a ton of makeup). So to find a dark brown eyeliner that a) shows up on me, b) doesn't cost an arm and leg and c) lasts a good while on my watery waterline is an A+ winner in my book! They do also have a black and a couple other shades I want to try also, but Truffle is always gonna be my jam!

Clinique Cheek Pop (Cola Pop): I feel like these are so underrated! They're like a baked floral printed blush that is super pretty on the skin! Cola Pop is a richer reddish berry color that I feel tan to deep skin tones would love year round! If you're lighter, I would say go lighter on the hand because it can be a bit loud and clown looking.

NYX Born to Glow Illuminator (Sun Goddess): I bought this in hopes of using it as a bronze gold liquid highlight, but it's a bit too sheer for that. But mixed in with my foundation or moisturizer, it gives my skin a healthy glow from within! I usually don't go for the luminous look, but I've been crazy about the results this has been giving me!

Hard Candy Coconut Water Primer Stick & Milani Prime Shield (Mattifying & Pore Minimizing) : separately, both these primers work just okay. But together???? Match made in primer heaven! The Hard Candy primer was very hydrating, while the Milani primer smooths out my skin and I'm left with poreless, flawless skin. I've gotten compliments on my skin lately whenever I wear this, so I'll definitely keep this duo around!

C.O. Bigelow Lemon and Pomegranate Lip Cream: this brand of lip balms just does not disappoint! I love the Night Balm & the Rose Salve, so this was no surprise to me that I love this too! Lemon oil is good for nourishing and providing hydration, while pomegranate oil regenerates good skin cells and improves texture . I'll wear this before I apply my lipstick or alone, and my lips feels so amazing! Plus it smells divine!

Morphe M439 brush: I've seen many Youtube beauty vloggers use this brush for applying foundation in their tutorials, so I had this on my radar to try. I randomly found this in my local Ulta and have been obsessed since the first time I  used it! When I tell you I finished my foundation in no time flat....AMAZING!!

MISCELLANEOUS
Justin Timberlake "Filthy":  it took a bit for this to  grow on me, but I'm feeling it now! I've been a JT fan for some years, but I wasn't sure at first what to expect this. But it really is infectious.

Well, we have finally made it to the end of this favorites post!! Hopefully you've found some good products within this list to try out for yourselves! Let me know some of your favorites or not so favorites from the month of February! Thanks for reading, and like always, Stay Beautiful

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
