December Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my December beauty favorites!! Y'all 2017 is officially laid to rest. It wasn't too bad of a year, but we'll see what 2018 has in store. I do plan on doing a Best of Beauty for 2017, but I did have some products I loved &  wanted to talk about separately from that  so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for December,  then just keep reading!

HAIR CARE

Salon Care Root Comb Applicator Bottle: applying oil to my scalp just became so much easier and less messy!!

SKIN CARE

Renewal by Rite Aid Moisturizing Lotion for Extra Dry Skin (couldn't find this particular one, but this is the lotion it's supposed to dupe): Though I do love the Shea Moisture lotions, they are a bit too thick for my liking. So, I was on the hunt for a lotion that still was moisturizing but easy to rub into the skin. Enter in this guy!! This is supposed to be comparable to the Lubriderm Advanced Therapy lotion, and I have to agree!! Plus , it was on sale at the time, which made it even better for me!

Vick's Vapor Rub: I've used this for years, but lately, I've been using it as a topical analgesic and it has been working wonders!! Being a nurse, I do a lot of walking and bending and I leave sometimes more than a little sore. I put this on the affected area at night, and by morning, the pain is totally gone!

MAKEUP

Ulta Full Coverage Waterproof Concealer----"Deep Cool": Juicyyyjas raves about this all the time , and for good reason! I bought it on a whim last year and really enjoyed it then, but since pulling it back out , I fell in love even more! It's a thicker concealer  that gives amazing coverage!! Especially if I happen not to get enough sleep the previous night.

Milani Retouch and Erase Light Lifting Concealer---"Honey": the consistency is very similar to the Ulta one, but I enjoy this for a different reason. This give the undereye just the right amount of brightness, so you'll look more awake!

Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder---"Translucent": every time I use this, my concealer does not budge whatsoever!! It really does lock it into place!

Shea Moisture Mineral Powder Foundation--"Praline" : this gives such AMAZING coverage! It's  really smooth and pigmented, but easy to blend into the skin!

Amuse Cosmetics Silky Blush --"Dare Devil": for a $1 blush, this is SO pigmented!! It's a pretty mauve berry color that is perfect for deeper skin tones!! Only thing I would be aware of---it is scented , so if you don't like scented powder products , you won't like this. But you definitely want to be careful applyin this, because like I said, it's VERY pigmented and can possilby look clownish on you if you're not careful.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek Blush---"Swift": when I wasn't rocking the Amuse one, I was all over this one! This is a great "no-blush" blush color for deeper skin tones! It gives a subtle amount of warmth to the face, and I'm here for it!

Colourpop x  Karreuche Super Shock Cheek Highlighter---"Glo Up":  This is a stunning golden copper color!! It applies really smooth to the cheek and is very buildable!!

NYX Contour Intuitive Eye & Cheek Palette----"Warm Zone": a great all in one that is perfect for a warm shadow lover on the go!!

Milani Shadow Eyez 12 hour Eyeshadow Stick---"Cafe Au Lait": this is the perfect brown shadow stick to prime the lids for shadow, as well as color correct!! I'll wear this both with and without a full face of makeup!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Kit----"Light Medium": you guys know I just raved about the LA Colors contour kit last month, but this is right there behind it!! Upon swatching, the bronzer is a little light, but suprisingly it blends into my skin nicely and brings my look together!! The highlighter and blush are nice also, but I usually mix them since the highlighter is a bit on the pearly side.

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick---"Maple Kiss": though I love a good liquid lipstick, lately I've been digging regular lipsticks again. And this one is definitely been my go to! I heard the Glamtwinz mentioned this particular line of Maybelline lipsticks, and this color stood out to me the most. It's a peach/orange/nude that looks beautiful on deeper skin tones! I've worn this both with and without a liner and loved it both ways!

Well, to the end we have arrived!! Hopefully you've found some good products within this list (and this year) to try out for yourselves! Let me know some of your  favorites or not so favorites from December! I'm super excited to see what 2018 will bring to the beauty community! Thanks for reading, and like always, Stay Beautiful!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

August Favorites 2018.

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
