July/August Favorites

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month (well 2 actually), which means monthly favorites! May I just say two things: 1) July and August went by pretty fast and hot and 2) we're almost 75% through 2019! what the what?!?!  Nonetheless, I have a really good mixture of stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for July and August, then just keep on reading!

SKINCARE

  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: I'm never really into high end skincare, but this one I 100% stand for! I've used this on and off for years, and it never has failed me!! Perfect if you have irritated or very sensitive skin!
  • Mielle Pomegranate Honey Radiant Body Lotion: I love the Mielle products for my hair that I've tried, but I was a bit skeptical of the body products. However, if they're anything like the lotion, that I have high hopes!! I ordered two bottles on a whim during their Memorial Day sale, and I was shook!! It smells divine and it's so moisturizing!! Only thing is I'm not crazy about the glitter in the lotion, otherwise I totally recommend!!
  • Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Liquid Sunscreen (SPF 50): I love this sunscreen mainly because it doesn't irritate my eyes!! Plus the fact it's more watery makes it easier for me to mix in with my moisturizers!!
  • Caudalie Beauty Elixir: such a wonderful multi purpose spray!! I use it for toner, a skin refresher and even to wet my brushes when applying my makeup. Plus , the peppermint scent is everything!!
  • Revolution Skincare Superfruit Extract Antioxidant Rich Serum & Primer: absolutely love this serum!! It helps to plump and smooth out my skin for my remaining skincare or makeup. Better believe I'll be picking up another one once mine is empty!!
  • Milani Keep it Smooth Luxe Lip Treatment: I love how smooth my lips are once this sinks in!! It has a thinner consistency, but really packs a punch!!
  • Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow: since using these toners, my texture has improved a ton!! I do wish that more people talked about Nip & Fab because their products are pretty dope overall!
MAKEUP
  • Pixel Triple Boost Matte Pressed Powder (08 Honey): I love how well this powder keeps my oils at bay! It honestly reminds me of the L'Oreal Infallible Matte powder as far as longevity of my makeup goes!!
  • L'oreal Infallible Matte Lock Primer: Speaking of L'Oreal , this primer is awesome! It smoothes out my pores on my cheeks and keeps my oil controlled throughout the day! This could definitely be a dupe for the Becca Ever Matte Primer, in my opinion! *there will be a Dupe , Dud or Better coming soon!*
  • AOA Studio F3/E103 brushes: I love the bigger F3 for blending out my foundation, while the E103 is great for applying bronzer to smaller places (like the bridge of my nose or under my lip), as well as blending out my concealer and applying eye primer!
  • AOA Studio F6/E106 brushes: The F6 is a bomb blush brush, and the E106 is good for highlighter to really give me that glowy pop!
  • ABH Brow Powder Duo (Ebony): I'm shocked at how much I love this, since I'm not into brow powders. Pencils I love and I don't mind pomades, but powders were never really my thing. But I made it a point to check this out since people think of ABH as the holy grail brand for brow products. And wow, this duo is awesome! It's the right amount of pigmented: not too much and not too faint either!
HAIR
  • Eco Styler Gold gel: the definition I get from the gel is mind blowing! I hadn't used Ecostyler in so long since the whole uproar about their ingredients over a year ago. But I got a sample of the gel from Target and gave it a go, and I've used it every time I've don't my natural hair lately! Even as my hair gets more frizzy and bigger, the definition still hangs tough!
  • Kalyss Synthetic Dread Faux Loc wig: so in love with this unit!! I had toyed with the idea of getting faux locs since my sister and mom had them and I liked it on them, but I didn't want to go through the install process and potentially hate it on myself. So when I found this unit on Amazon, I jumped on it and picked it up . I rocked it most of July and I was very impressed by the quality and how well it fit!!
  • Hair Chemist Balm to Oil Pre Shower Deep Hair Treatment: my friend Nia raved about this product and how soft it made her natural hair. but what intrigued me even more is that it's sold on ShopMissA for just $1!! Of course , I had to wait for a restock since it sold out so quick, but soon as it did, I immediately bought it! I gotta say, Nia was so right! It protects my curls and helps me detangle it before I shampoo or cowash . I loved it so much that I've bought two backups since & will likely go buy two more each time I use one up.
  • Schwarzkopf Smooth 'n Shine Camellia Oil & Shea Butter Deep Recovery Treatment: the best deep conditioning treatment for lazy naturals like myself!! I'm guilty, like many, of starting my hair routine super late in the day. But since starting to use this, it saves me time!! It softens my hair and rehydrates it, but I love that I don't have to wash it out and can soak in all its goodness!! Definitely will have this as one of my staples in my hair routine!
MISCELLANEOUS
  • White Mountain Footbeds sandals (Crawford); these are super comfortable and no fuss! I saw these at Burlington during my North Carolina vacation, and knew I had to have them!!
  • Black crossbody purses (not exactly like one that I own, but it's fairly similar): I love me a good crossbody purse! They tend to bring an outfit together and make it look like you tried, even when you really didn't. and what better color to go with than black?? Black is so universal and works in all seasons!
  • Pink Youth--Yuna/Little Simz: It has more of an outer space/celestial type of beat, but I fell totally in love with it!! Plus to be about empowering women??? A+++++!!
  • Take Me Away--Daniel Caesar/Syd: every listen to a song that makes you feel like you're floating and nothing can hurt you??? this song totally falls in that category!
  • Ordinary People--John Legend: I've actually loved this song for a long time, but the unexpected passing of actor Cameron Boyce in early July reminded me of why I used to love it so much. It's a reminder that we as people are not perfect, especially in relationships. There'll be times where things will happen , and we won't have all the answers, but with patience and true commitment, we may still get to our happy ending. When I had seen the small snippet of Cameron singing it after news of his death had broken, I was extremely conflicted and emotional----awestruck by how much soul he possessed in his voice, but heartbroken knowing that he'll never be able to do that again.
Well, that is all my favorites for July/August!  Let me know: what are some of your  favorites and non-favorites for July and/or August? I'd love to know!! As always , thanks for reading and Stay Beautiful!!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
