October Favorites

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites time! Folks, we have 61 days left in 2018. I'm so shocked that this year flew by so fast!! But I've been making it my mission to really try out some things this past month, and  I have quite a bit that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for October, then just keep on reading!

HAIR
  • As I Am Cleansing Pudding: this is a perfect hybrid of a shampoo and co wash! It cleans my hair and scalp of all the product build up and dirt like a shampoo would, but leaves my hair feeling hydrated and soft like a co wash!! It's also pretty thick, so I actually have to store it upside down so it comes out the bottle easier. So, I do wish the bottle came with a pump for easier dispensing of the product, otherwise it's amazing!
  • The Mane Choice Crystal Orchid Biotin Infused Styling Gel: I've been obsessing over this gel, but not for hold or definition (though it does define my curls and give them a soft/medium hold). I've noticed since incorporating this, I've been retaining more of my length!
MAKEUP
  • Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation--"450": everyone was obsessing over this foundation release last year, and I was not one of them. Not that I have anything against Rihanna, but hearing about the issues with shade matching people were having, it kind of turned me off. But I decided to take the plunge around April and pick it up, and I'm officially in love! It's a liquidy texture, but dries really fast without making my skin feel cracked! the color "450" is not too warm, but not too cool and gray toned, and it wears amazing all day long!
  • LA Colors High Shine Shea Butter lip gloss---"Dollface": lately, I've been rocking lip gloss nonstop and I'm always down to try out new ones . I heard about these and that they were good, so I tested that theory out for myself. These are so good and so affordable!! I own quite a few, but this one would be my number one! It's a pink/brown/peach/nude color and I cannot get enough!
  • Loreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara: another great mascara with that classic Loreal formula that just works!! It does make my lashes very flirty and dainty!
  • Loreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray: this honestly was sitting in my collection, so I pulled it out to give it some love. Why was I not using this sooner??? My makeup wears so well everytime I use this, and it controls my oils very well!
  • ELF Mad for Matte palette---"Jewel Pop": I love this palette way more that I expected to! It's great to have when you want a pop of color to an all matte look, or to supplement a mostly shimmer palette! I love that there's also a matte cream AND a matte black in the shadow layout!
  • ELF Concealer brush: this is the perfect brush for applying shimmery lid colors!! It's a bit wider than most flat brushes, but it covers more surface area on the eye, which saves me time when doing eyeshadow!!
  • Luxie 514 Blush Brush: this brush deposits just the right amount of blush on the cheeks! I don't get too much that I look clownish, but not barely anything that my face looks lifeless and flat. I've been really I hate that Luxie brushes are on the pricey side, because I really have enjoyed them!
  • Sonia Kashuk pencil brush (Facetnation brush set) [this set is no longer available, but here's an SK brush that is extremely similar]: I love this actual brush for smoking out my lower lash line color, but I really love how long this brush has lasted me! I believe I bought this set from Target about 4 years ago , and this brush is still going strong!
  • Chique Pro Eyeshadow brush: this brush was a newer discovery to me, but I've been loving it! I like how it's flat but fluffy, which is perfect if I want to do an all matte look! I use this to apply my lid shade, then turn it on its side to buff and diffuse the color where I want it to go! plus, it's so cheap!!
  • IBY Beauty Crease brush: when I haven't been using the SK brush, I've been loving this one for my lower lash line!! This is also bom for deepening the crease and outer third of my lid with a richer color!
  • Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette---Medium to Dark: if I had to get rid of all my contour and bronzer items and just keep only one, this would be my one!! the powders are pigmented, but super easy to work with! The Contour color is nice and chocolate, the Sculpt shade is a nice warm caramel that sets my concealer nicely without making me look too bright under there, and the Highlight is a beautiful glowy gold! My palette is soooo dirty and beat up, but I will never stop loving this!
  • Wet n Wild MegaGlo Illuminating Powder--"Starlight Bronze" [this is also no longer available, but here's something extremely similar]: since I love their newer Megaglo highlighters so much, I wanted to try out some of the older WNW highlight powders in my collection. This is a bit more subtle on its own, but mixed with other highlighters makes it extra popping!! I've been mixing this with the highlight from the Black Radiance palette and they are like magic together!
  • MAC Prep & Prime Fix +: this just helps my skin feel refreshed and amazing!! I use this before I apply my makeup, after my makeup is complete, when I don't wear makeup....essentially every day lol. People have talked about this for YEARS and I'm mad late trying it, but I'm glad I finally did!
SKINCARE
  • Freeman Cactus & Cloudberry Water Gel Mask: this was an instant favorite for me! the first time I tried the little sample of this, my skin felt so amazing afterwards!! Plus, ya'll know I'm a sucker for Freeman masks!
  • Sephora Collection Purifying & Mattifying Mud Mask: I'm just as obsessed with this mask like everyone else is!! It really does draw out all the impurities and dirt deep out of my pores and I was so shocked how smooth my face felt after I rinse it off. I use this about 1-2 times a week or when my skin just needs a nice deep cleaning.
  • Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Lip Scrub---"Citrus Elixir": I still love the ELF lip exfoliators more so for convenience, but this makes my lips so much smoother! Since  the texture is more gritty and abrasive, it removes more dead skin and all my lip products just apply so smooth after. Plus, I love the orange smell & cannot wait to pick up the watermelon one!
  • Eco Tools Facial Cleansing Brush: since incorporating this brush in my skincare routine, I noticed how much cleaner my face feels! I use my cleanser once with my hands only, then a second time with this brush, and I feel this pushes the cleanser deeper into my pores, so it works more effectively!! Plus it's super cheap!!
MISCELLANEOUS
  • Old Navy Sueded Block Heel booties --"Oregon Trail": these booties are prefect for a non heel wearer like myself! They're high enough that I can not feel so short, but wide enough that it's comfortable to walk around.  Plus, they're also resistant to dirt and water, so I can even wear these on a rainy day if I wanted.  And, let me not forget how the khaki olive color gets me even more ready for fall!
  • Reach Essentials Anti-Cavity Fluoride Rinse: odd that I'm mentioning a dental related product, but this mouthwash has changed my life!! My mouth feels really clean after I'm done brushing my teeth, but not super irritated because it's alcohol free!! Plus, it's only $1!! and I'm all for really cheap products that work well!
  • Send One Your Love---Stevie Wonder: He can just do no wrong for me! He makes me feel that idyllic love can exist, even if only for a moment!
  • Doin' Just Fine---Boyz II Men: another amazingly crafted gem by my favorite group EVER.
Well, that is all my favorites for October!  Let me know: what are some of your October favorites and non-favorites? I'd love to know!! As always , thanks for reading and Stay Beautiful!!

Review: Nubian Heritage African Black Soap

Hello, all! Happy new year to everyone!! I came on to give my review on the second out of the three soaps I received from Nubian Heritage---the African Black Soap. Price: $4.99 on NH website and at the Vitamin Shoppe (5 oz size) Specs: This soap claims to be  acne-fighting,  detoxifying and healing.  Also, it was designed for people with   combination, oily, sensitive, and problem skin  , however it has been said that people with ALL skin types can use this as well :) but, back to the specs. Like I mentioned on my review on the Shea Butter soap , on the container is a brief history about how Nubian Heritage got its start and the ayurvedic properties about the key ingredients--which for this product line is shea butter, oats, aloe, palm ash, plaintain peel, tamarind extract and vitamin E. Palm Ash, Tamarind & Plantain Peel--soothing properties ; minimizes the appearance of superficial skin imperfections Oats--brightens and evens skin tone ...

November Favorites

Hello, my loves! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! I can't believe that I'm here with my November beauty favorites!! Like the year is legit almost  done. 31 days left before 2018 makes its grand entry. I do have quite a bit this month, so if you're interested in learning all about my  favorites for November,  then just keep reading! SKIN/BODYCARE Eco Tools Konjac Cleansing Sponge : so great for helping spread my cleanser more evenly on my face versus using my hands or a rag! I've also noticed that it has helped my skin be a lot smoother, too! Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion : such a thick, hydrating lotion !! Only thing though is I would change the packaging--maybe opt for a jar instead of a bottle because it's thicker that a traditional lotion, but thinner than a body butter. Nip & Fab Kale Fix Protecting Shot : my skin has been more balanced lately since incorporating this oil!! Since it's colder, my skin tends t...

Hola, beautiful ones!! Welcome back & if you're new here, welcome! Once again, we've reached the end on yet another month, which means monthly favorites! Guys, we're officially 2/3 through 2018!! Crazy that just in 4 short months, it will be 2019!! Slow down, time!! Nonetheless, I have some really good stuff that I've been loving, so if you guys wanna know about my favorites for August, then just keep on  reading! Makeup Colourpop Element of Surprise palette : this is probably one of the most unique palettes I own! When I first saw it, I had no interest in picking it up, but when I saw it in Ulta & swatched the shade Rayon, (metallic dark coral with blue-green duochrome) I fell in love!! I never thought I'd love this palette, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Colourpop x KathleenLights Dream St. Palette :  another great option for a few pops of color + neutral shades! Unlike the Element of Surprise, this one is more a warm toned color scheme .  Also, I...
